a day at the lake

Summer has finally arrived,
and it looks like this time she's here to stay for a bit.

Soon it will be too hot to get out of the house between 11 am and 4 pm,
and we'll be desperately looking for ways to escape the midnight heat,
but for now we're glad the rainclouds have drifted away,
and we can finally shed a layer of clothing.
We all agreed there couldn't possibly be a better way to celebrate this,
than with a day at the lake, and we were right.
I really enjoyed the change of scenery,
the cold water on my feet,
and the very first chance this year to show off ten freshly painted toe nails,
and I really hope we'll be back for a day at the lake soon.
But how about you?
Has summer arrived in your corner of the woods?
And do you usually celebrate this turning of the seasons?

Wow it looks so beautiful : )
Summer has arrived at last, I do love the turning of the seasons, every one brings a change of scenery and a different pace of life, I get outside every day and try to notice the little changes.
